I desperately need some kind of incume coming in. Some people in my church sell Arbon products. I know that Avon is accessible and I'm looking in to that, but I'm also lookingin to my options. Has anyone worked with Arbon who is blind/visually impaired? Do they have materialsin an accessible format? Is there a lot of form filling/unnecessary paper work? Are the representativesreceptive and understanding to those who are blind? Thanks.
I've only used Arbonne products once, and it was a long time ago. If I had to guess, I would say that ARbonne, and Mary Kay aren't that accessible. Part of that could be that as a cosmetics company rep, part of the job is to help customers pick out their ideal shades and give advice. I did hear of one Mary Kay rep who was blind. I only heard it through my old Mary Kay lady. I know there is a lot of work with Avon, but I'm not sure about Arbonne. I know it is a Swiss company, so maybe they have different procedures. Another duty of an Arbonne/Avon/Mary Kay rep is to deliver the orders, that's why these companies are popular with busy moms. If you were close to another Arbonne rep, perhaps you could tagteam and deliver orders, like you could run them up the the door and collect the payment, while she drove. Honestly, I think this type of work would be very difficult for a blind person to do (though not impossible). My best friend tried to be a Home Interriors rep, and it was really hard for her to build her customer base. Could you have reliable transportation so that you could drop off books? Even my Avon rep has a second job. Why not contact Arbonne via email, and ask them some questions. I haven't heard of brailled cases for different colors, but a cosmetics company could really boost it's profit by doing that.
